Why I'm closing my workshop

My name is Mari. I make sandals by hand. I have been doing this for 52 years. I started when I was fifteen years old. An old craftsman in my town taught me how. When I got older, I opened my own small workshop.

I still make every pair myself. I cut the leather. I stitch the soles. I check every detail before it goes in the box. No machines. No factory. Just my hands and my bench.

But my hands are tired now. They still know the work — they always will. But it is time to rest. My daughter Grace and I talked about it for a long time. We both agreed: it is better to stop while the work is still good.

The last pairs I'll ever make

Everything in my shop is now at my cost price. That means you pay what I paid to make them. This is not a sale or a trick. These are simply the last pairs I will ever make, and I want them to find good homes.

I made each one the same way I always have. One pair at a time. By hand. With care. Nothing is different — except that these are the final ones.
